What’s your favorite dish for Thanksgiving?!

DIY Thanksgiving Banner

16 Nov

Thanksgiving is in two weeks and everywhere I went, there are thanksgiving items being sold in stores in preparation for families to start decorating for their family gathering. Though I look forward to spending some quality time with my family for Thanksgiving this year, I’m actually more excited about Friendsgiving, a tradition my friends and I started a couple years back. Every year before the actual Thanksgiving, my friends and I would gather together for a lovely good time of hearty Thanksgiving food and catch up. This year, I’ll be hosting so I’ve been on the lookout for Thanksgiving decorations and I recently made a Thanksgiving Banner. Check out the tutorial!

>> Materials <<

(2) Brown cardstock paper

(2) Burlap paper

Extra textured cardboard I had lying around the house (you could buy these all at Michaels)

(1) Golden shimmery ribbon

Gold metallic acrylic paint

Hot Glue + Hot Glue Gun

Thanksgiving Stickers of your Choice

^^I cut all the cardstock and burlap in half, so this is how they look like longwise.

^^ I forgot to take a photo between this step but I then divided the long strips into threes and cut them so they were about 5 inches in width. Then I cut little triangle slits at the bottom so they look like flags. ((This is optional- but I used the extra textured card stock paper into flags as well and filled those with stickers))

^^ I cut the brown cardstock into tiny flats as seen above. Then I painted the words “Gobble, Gobble” with gold metallic paint. If you feel that your handwriting won’t look as neat as you’d like, you can always get stencils from Michaels or even letter stickers.

^^ Once the gold metallic paint dried, I glued them onto the burlap flags with a hot glue gun. I only did burlap for every other letter on my banner, but if you want to have this look throughout all your letter flags, then you’ll need 2 more sheets of burlap!

^^ Once the letters were glued onto the burlap material, I then took my gold ribbon and hot glued them onto the flag.  What’d you guys think? I’m thinking of tackling a Thanksgiving Centerpiece next. Any suggestions?!

Thanks for reading! Until next time,

CaraBox Exchange: “Fall” in Love

10 Nov

I am extremely excited this weekend when I found my CaraBox waiting for me at my doorstep! For those who haven’t been following, you can learn more about what CaraBox Exchange is! I received my box from Kelsey and I loved everything she gave me. She nailed it right on. I felt like she captured fall perfectly with her box. Check out what she got me!

She got me a ceramic soup bowl that comes with a lid, a can of campell soup, Bath and body lotion, tissues, cupcake harvest colors sprinkles, pumpkin candle, table leave decors, leave stickers, a fall themed towel, pumpkin spice marshmallows and nailpolish that reminds me of the beautiful fall leaf colors! And to top it off, she added a bunch of caramel apple candy lollipops and fake colorful leaves so when I opened the box, it felt like I was literally outside throwing leaves into the air. I love it so much! For those who are curious to see what I sent to my lovely CaraBox partner, Kate, check it out on her blog post here! For those interested in signing up or learning more about the rules, check it out here. I definitely love how the policy has been changed for CaraBox now where you have to get to know one another with three month’s time as opposed to the previous one month a box. I feel like I got to connect with these two lovely ladies a lot more with the extra time. I can’t wait to find out what theme next month’s box will be!

I also had a little time this weekend to finally post some new items for my Etsy shop! Of course, being a major foodie, they’re mostly food related. =]
Until next time!

Simply Delicious: Pumpkin Spice Latte Cupcakes

4 Nov

As part of my love for pumpkin fall flavors, I decided to try out a new recipe I found- the pumpkin spice latte cupcake!
Now my apartment smells freshly of pumpkin and cinnamon spice! =] How lovely. It’s a simple recipe, especially for those short on time!

For the Cupcakes
1 spice cake mix (15.25 oz.)
1 can pumpkin puree (15 oz.)
3 eggs
1/3 cup oil
1/3 cup brewed coffee, cooled
For the Frosting
2 teaspoons hot water
2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
6 ounces baking white chocolate squares, chopped
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon

  1. Combine the cake mix, pumpkin, eggs, oil, and coffee in a mixing bowl. Beat on low for 1 minute, and beat on medium for 2 minutes. Spoon into 24 cupcake liners. Bake at 350* for 18 minutes. Cool completely before frosting.
  2. Frosting: Stir the hot water and instant coffee until dissolved. Set aside. Heat the white chocolate and heavy cream over low-medium heat until melted and smooth. Let cool for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Place the butter and coffee mixture in a bowl and beat for 1-2 minutes. Slowly pour in the melted chocolate mixture and beat until creamy. Slowly add the powdered sugar and cinnamon and beat until thick and fluffy. This will take about 5 minutes. Frost cupcakes.

What do you guys think?!

Friday Favorites: Fall & Pumpkin Candles!

1 Nov

It’s a day after Halloween and I still can’t believe it’s already November! Where did this year go?! Though I can’t complain too much since everything fall related is still up and coming! Speaking of fall, today I went to Bath and Body Works and I just had to share with y’all because it was such a good deal! They have so many sales (granted, not as much as after Christmas or Black Friday, but still!) because they’re currently transitioning from fall to their seasonal christmas items. So if you’re also a fellow Pumpkin obsessed person like me, stock up on your sweet cinnamon pumpkin candles and lotion now! There was a lot of stuff on the tables for 50%! Needless to say, this is definitely my friday favorites! Here are some of my loves:
BathandBody Lotion
^^ I was able to get this signature item for free because I had a coupon they gave me from my previous purchase!
BathandBody Lotion

Nutmeg & spice candle

sandlewood citrus

Vanilla Cedarwood candle

^^This is by far my latest favorite. My apartment smells like I just baked pumpkin pie! =]

Needless to say, I definitely stocked up a little before Christmas… I didn’t go too crazy because I know there’s just going to be so much more come Black Friday and after Christmas. But I just couldn’t resist the pumpkin candles! Oh! And after your purchase, they give you a coupon for free signature item after spending $15 or more and an additional $10 off if you spend $30 or more.

Also, I’m in no way affiliated with Bath and Body Works, nor am I doing paid advertising for them. I just truly love their products! =] What about you guys? What’s your favorite Bath and Body scent?!
